 The donations & sponsorships of Transnet Foundation’s social responsibility are aimed at contributing towards the developmental agenda of South Africa and facilitating economic growth and / or organisational prosperity of the beneficiaries. 

Donations & Sponsorships
  • Projects and organisations requesting funding must be aligned to the donations & sponsorships strategies of Transnet Foundation. The objectives contained in each portfolio webpage outline the strategy for that portfolio.
  • Only such projects or organisations that are reputable and in good standing will be considered for funding.
  • Aspects of the project such as sustainability; project impact and additional support funding where necessary, will be considered.
  • A project or organization may be funded for two consecutive years only, after which it will be excluded from funding for the following two consecutive years.
  • Strong consideration will be given to disadvantaged communities and / or projects that bring about socio – economic improvement to the beneficiaries.

Minimum Standards
The minimum information that must be supplied by an organization or project requesting donations & sponsorships is:
  • Legal nature of the organisational structure
  • Contact details
  • Clearly defined objective for donation & sponsorship request (WHY)
  • Clearly defined concept for donation & sponsorship request (WHAT)
  • Detailed budget
