Trials

The SAFA/Transnet Football School of Excellence strives only to accept the most talented players into the School, as space is limited.

The School works on a sports bursary sponsored by Transnet and covers, academics, football and residential costs.

Enrolment and acceptance are conducted via trials. The date of the trials will be announced on the website.

Admissions

Trial Date

Instead of a traditional form / application, the player's participation in the trials will ensure a chance at a place at the School.

The SAFA/Transnet football School of Excellence will be hosting trials on the following dates:

Saturday 11 March 2017

Sunday 12 March 2017

On both days, the programme will start at 08:00. Please ensure that you arrive early and have the necesary gear to play football in.

Eligibility

Participants must be highly active in football and, the following will be an advantage; national-/-provicial-/-academy level.

Players eligible to participate must have the following:

Born between 2005 and 2006 (12-13 years old)

Currently in Grade 7

Highly active in football

National, provincial or academy level will be an advantage.

Location

The trials will be hosted at the Transnet Sport School of Excellence: No.4, Sirkel Road Elandsfontein, Johannesburg

How the Process Works

Trials

Attend Trials

Dates and locations of the trials will be posted on the website. Trials are free. You need to meet the requirements that are posted with the trial dates and locations.

1: Trials

Preliminary Round

If you are selected after the trials, you will be invited to attend the preliminary round. Here you will be further assessed.

2: Preliminaries

10-day National Camp

If you are shortlisted you will be invited to attend a 10-day national camp. Assessment would include not only your football skills but also you character, academic achievements, behaviour and work ethic.

3: National camp

Join the School

Selected learners will be invited to join the school.
